3 Powerful WordPress SEO Plugins to Help Your Site Range in Google|Search Engine Optimization

If you want your WordPress site to rank well in search engines like Google, you need the WordPress SEO plugin

Out of the box, WordPress works very well ... but SEO is not one of them.

That's why some of the most popular plugins on WordPress.org help with SEO.

But ... how do you choose an SEO plugin? And does it make any difference to which plugin you choose?

Let's take a look at 5 of the best WordPress SEO plugins. Then, in the end, I would recommend specific plugins based on some use cases (such as whether you are an SEO startup or not).

But first - a quick disclaimer is harder than SEO plugins

It is difficult to compare SEO plugins because there are so many small features that go into them. And, unlike most plugins, even small features can be important.

So, the deal here is:

If you are a blogger first and an SEO seconds (like you're just SEO because you know it's important to your blog), then you probably will not see any big difference between any of these SEO plugins. That is, they do a good job at all SEO basics.

Therefore, I recommend that you approach this post like this:

If you are not heavy in SEO, focus more on the interface and how to analyze the plugin. For example, some plugins will help you analyze your content and give you suggestions, while others will be out of your way.
If you are heavy in SEO, you may want to open the full list of each plugin, to see if you can do all those non-gritty things you want to do, because for me It's not all that I have written without a book.
Out of that way, let's dive in ...

1. All in One SEO Pack
All-in-One SEO Pack is the second most popular SEO plugin out there. According to WordPress.org, it is active on more than 2 million sites, with a 4.4-star rating in 400 reviews.

One of the things that you like, or are not liked, is about All In One SEO Pack, it does not come with any analysis features.

That is, it gives you the settings you need, but it does not suggest to use those settings.

All in One SEO pack also goes with a modular approach, which means that you can activate or deactivate some features based on your needs.

Combine those two approaches and you will find a very light, straightforward plugin.

So what can this do?

Well, first of all, it gives you a meta box on each piece of content so that you can control the title / meta description (as you will see, each plugin uses this basic approach).

Apart from this, you also get other options for noindex or noflow pieces of material.

You also get a long general setting page, where you can configure all the SEO basics of your site. Keeping each setting in a list is a bit heavier than before, but in the long run, it is very convenient to be able to control everything from one place.

From these settings, you can:

Control the original title / description format, including the use of variables.
Choose which content type to use All in One SEO Pack.
Connect with Google Search Console and other webmaster tools.
Configure Basic Citidid Schema.
Noindex types some content.

All In One SEO Pack Pro
The free version of All In One SEO Pack should work fine for most sites. But there is also a pro version which works in certain situations.

First of all, it lets you control SEO settings for categories, tags, and other classification. If you are trying to rank your taxonomy collecting pages in Google, then it is helpful.

Second, there is more advanced support for WooCommerce, which is helpful for store.

Finally, it includes a video SEO module, which is great if you are creating your own video.

Pro version starts at $ 97.

2. SEO Framework

Yoast SEO and All in One SEO Pack in WordPress SEO are two giants. These three plugins are not nearly popular, but that does not mean they are not as good.

This is certainly true with SEO Framework, which has been activated quickly on 70,000+ sites with 4.9-star rating in 175 reviews.

If there was an overall adjective to describe this plugin, then it would be light. Everything about it is being customized and trying to be as unobtrusive as possible.

Like the others, the SEO meta box lets you control:

Title Description
Social media settings
Visibility (nofollow, noindex, canonical, etc.)

3. Rank Math
Rank Math is the youngest WordPress SEO plugin in this list. But this is a relatively new offering, it comes from an established player in Wordpress Space and has some unique twists in it.

Some of those most unique twists are:

Built-in Google Schema / rich snippets support for 14 different data types
Built-in keyword suggestions from Google
404 Monitoring
Detailed Site-Wide SEO Analysis
Like Yoast SEO, Rank Math starts with a user-friendly setup wizard to help you configure all the important basics:

From there, you can turn different features on or off for modular approach to monastery.

The General Settings area lets you set different settings, including the ability to edit your robots.txt file and .htaccess files from your dashboard:

Each piece of content gets its own meta box, where you can configure title and meta information, as well as social media and other settings.

Here are some specific things to point out.

Firstly, like Yoast SEO, Rank Math analyzes your content for both SEO and readability. One good thing is that you can also optimize for many keywords in the free version (however you have to link to your MyThemeShop account):

Another unique feature of this meta box is the built-in rich snippets functionality. From that tab, you can choose one of the 14 included data types to add schema markup.

For example, if you are writing a review, then you can choose the review data type, include your rating, and get those stars in Google without receiving the stars with the need for a separate plugin Can:

For my information, no other WordPress SEO plugin offers such a wide range of ways to add WordPress Rich Snippets for free, so this is definitely a big point in favor of Rank Math.

Rank Math is still very new, so there is no premium version right now. However, I think that will change over time.

Rank Math's roadmap is complicated
Because the rank monastery is new, they are still working on some features. But the roadmap that MyThemeShop has published looks quite intriguing.

You can check all the features here, but one of the most important dashboards is the Google Search Console integration that gives you:

What keywords do you rank for
Keyword status
Organic Search CTR
e.t.c.
