In fact, working on SEO fits very well with my focus on productivity. It has been my experience that with a little effort with SEO, efforts can give very large and long-lasting results compared to concentrating large amounts of effort on social media or even Pinterest.

The problem with SEO is that there is so much information out there that it can be difficult to know where to start! In this beginner guide, for SEO, I will take you to step by step through the most important aspects of bloggers for bloggers.

But first, let's have a lot in the beginning ...

What is SEO?

Put simply SEO is the practice of optimizing websites to reach a higher position in search engine results. But how do search engines decide which pages to rank? To understand this, you should understand how search engines work ...

How does the search engine work?
Essentially, search engines follow the link. Search engines have bots that go around the web after the link and index what they find. They then use an algorithm to determine which website is the highest for each search term.

How do you search, who sign the number 1 on the website?
To understand this, think of the search engine as businesses (which they are). They want to keep their customers happy, so they keep coming back and do not switch to competitors. As a result, search engines want you to give the best results for your search query. They use an algorithm to help determine how best answers are for a particular search query.
Key to SEO
So really the key to SEO is very simple ...

The way to rank higher in search engines should be the best result!

If you really have the best results for a particular query, then you should rank as the number 1 for that query.

Of course, having the best results is not always as easy as it seems! And in the rest of this article, I will show you what is the best result. But retaining hold is an important principle. A doctrine which is always likely to be true, whether there is an exploration in the future.

SEO is not a TRICK
This is a common myth, which many people still believe - that SEO is some kind of trick or system and us, t does not have a chance for big people, who have a lot of SEO professionals who have their Are working for

But the truth is that SEO is not really a move, it's all about making great content that your audience really wants to read. Only excellent tricks' are really learning to write excellent content and are learning to explain to search engines that your content is really the best content.

I will teach this in the rest of this article.

Setting up a factory for search engines
So how do you actually do SEO? What are the factors that determine whether your posts or pages in search results are competing for the same search term compared to all other websites?

The main factors that will influence how good your content rank is:

Keyword research
Keyword optimization
Readability
Site structure
Back
Technical SEO
Let's replace each of these ...

A Beginner's Guide to SEO

KEYWORD RESEARCH
This is a very important part of SEO and one that is often overlooked. Keyword research is about understanding what your viewers are really searching for.

What are the keywords?

Your keyword is the search phrase for which you want a special blog post. Therefore, for example, if you are writing a recipe post for mushroom risotto, your keyword may be 'mushroom risotto'.

2 large results with keywords

When choosing keywords, two big mistakes make bloggers.

The first is to select a keyword that people are not searching for. For example, you would have written the best carrot risotto recipe in the world, but if people are not searching for 'carrot risotto', then it is not a matter of fact. You can also make the number one for 'carrot risotto', but no one will ever know because no carrot is looking for risotto

The second mistake is to choose the keywords that are very competitive. Going back to our example of 'Mushroom Risotto' - this is clearly a very popular search term. As a result, there are many dishes on the internet for Mushroom Risotto - many of them are from many well-known websites, compared to you. A quick look at search results for mushroom risotto shows me that search results are dominated by big players such as supermarkets, BBC, renowned chefs and other big recipe websites.

Keyword research helps you choose the keywords that people are actually searching for and that you actually give a chance for ranking.

So how do you search?
The first thing you really need is a good idea that needs your target audience '. If you do not know who you are writing for, then you will not be able to do keyword research.

When you know what you are writing for, try to think about 'what is'. For example, on my food blog easypeasyfoodie.com, my readers are busy who want to eat well, but there is not much time for cooking. They want quick and easy, hassle-free recipes that still distribute to taste.

My mushroom risotto is going back to the example, my readers who want to do is a great tasting mushroom risotto, which does not take much time or effort. What my readers are searching for is not 'mushroom risotto', but 'quick mushroom risotto' or 'easy mushroom risotto' or 'simple mushroom risotto' is not. Keyword research helps me in those narratives, the most searched in the search, but the least competition.

Tool for keyboard research
There are several tools you can use to help you do keyword research.

Your own blog stats
One of the best tools for keyword research is your own blog stats. This will help you understand your audience more and find out what your audience is looking for you. What are your most popular posts? What do your visitors really want? What are their pain points?

Google Trends
Google Trends helps you compare similar search terms quickly and easily, which is the most popular. It also shows related searches and search trends.

SEO Book Keyword Tool

The SEO Book Keyword Tool is a free tool that shows search volume for all searches containing your selected keywords.

Ubersuggest
Ubersuggest is another free SEO tool. Like the SEO book, it will show you the search volume for your chosen keywords and for some related searches. But Ubersuggest also shows how competitive the search terms are. I use the SEO book to reduce my ideas and then flip to Ubersuggest to choose my exact search term.

Google's search results page
Google's search results page will give you many great insights It will show you who is the main competitor for that search term (so you can see if you are standing a chance?), It also shows you related searches and questions of common people on that subject.

More Work ...
Keyword research is a big topic and I have just explored the surface here, if you want to get a better understanding of keyword research, then go to my post on keyword research for bloggers where I explain more deeply keyword research. Am

KEYWORD OPTIMIZATION
Once you have your keyword (or more keyword phrase), you need to optimize your post for that keyword. This means that to help understand search engines, using that keyword in specific locations makes it understandable that the keyword is what is about your post.

Where to use your principles

To optimize blog posts for a particular keyword, you should use your keywords at the following places

Your title
Your first paragraph
Full description of your photos
Many times in your lesson (naturally)
At least one subordination
Your URL (ideally, it's less important)
Your meta description (This is a short paragraph using Google below your title in the search results)
Tools for major optimization
The main tool for keyword optimization is the Yoast SEO plugin. Yoast SEO is a plugin that is available in WordPress. You can type in your keyword phrase and Yoast will show you how you can improve your blog post to optimize your text for that keyword. Yoast measures each of your red, orange or green traffic lights, how well you are performing.

A Beginner's Guide to SEO

Readability
Readability is about ensuring that your blog post is easy to read and it's easy to ensure that the information your readers are interested in can find it quickly and easily.

It is becoming increasingly important because search engines want to give great results to their searchers. A lot of information may be hidden in your blog post, but if it is difficult to read or navigate, then this is not the best result for your readers.

Key aspects of the need for SEO
A well-written blog post should ...

Well structured
Read the short, easy sentence
Keep clear goals in mind
Look at each of those things in turn ...

Well structured
A good lesson should be logical and easy to follow. This should help the reader to detect the information in which they are most interested in. The best way to do this is to use small paragraphs, bullet points, and many headings.

You can see it in action in this article. I've used a lot of short paragraphs and headings (H2, H3 & H4) to help you understand and navigate this blog post easily.

Short paragraphs are becoming more and more important because people are increasingly using mobile phones to access the internet and search for things. Long paragraphs look like horror walls of text on mobile phones!

Short paragraphs are also important for voice search. If people are using voice search, they want it less easy to understand the answer. They do not want Google to read an essay!

Small, easy to read sentences
Again, it helps people to understand your text more easily. Short sentences for easy reading are becoming increasingly important because more and more users are using mobile to access information.

In addition to using short sentences, there are several ways to make your sentences easier to read. One transition is to use words/phrases (for example, though, as well, because ...) They help readers understand the relationship of sentences and provide indications on the next coming.

You should also avoid using the passive voice (where possible!), Which results in almost always more complex sentences.

Keep clear goals in mind
A clear goal will help you write a better, more readable blog post. A clear goal could be 'help the readers to really cook a good mushroom risotto' or to create a comprehensive guide for ner SEO, which helps bloggers to understand what is SEO and How to apply it to your blog '

Keeping a goal will help you make better decisions about what to put in your blog post and what to leave. It will also help you to create a clear and logical structure for your lessons.

Equipment for repair

The main tool of readability is the Yoast SEO plugin. With keyword optimization, Yoast will give you ready, orange or green traffic lights against various readability criteria, so that you know how well you are doing. You can find readability scores in Yoast Metabox at the end of your blog post.

More Work ...

Site structure
A good site structure is important for SEO because it helps your visitors and search engines navigate your site.

user experience

User experience is a big part of SEO. Google wants to send the best content to its searchers. One of Google's ways is that content is good if users have a good experience on your site.

We have seen above how you can give users a great experience on your site, so that they can answer those problems and read those answers clearly, easily. But another way to give your readers a good experience is by creating a website that readers can easily navigate.

A clear and easy way to navigate site structure will help your visitors reach the place where they want to go and understand them better what your site is.

Search engine

A clear site structure will help Google and other search engines understand your site - this will help them crawl your site more efficiently and understand the hierarchy of your content. A good site structure will help Google know what your most important posts and pages are, and help you avoid competing with you in search results!

Elements of a good site structure
A good site structure has many parts, but the main ones are:

Tags and categories
Internal Linking
Cornerstone material
Tags and categories
Tags and categories help readers and search engines to understand equally what content is available and how the content is structured.
Categories are the main way to structure your content. You should aim to have 4 to 6 broad categories on your website, and all your content should fit into one of these categories. To further divide your categories, you can use sub-categories. All your categories should be approximately equal in size

For example, on productive blogging I have 6 main categories, start a blog, blog content, move your blog forward, email marketing, monetize your blog and productivity tips. This blog post is part of the main category 'Grow Your Blog', I have a subcategory blog Grow Your Blog, which is 'SEO Tips'. This helps my readers find more SEO tips and/or more ways to easily develop their blogs.

Your categories should ideally be displayed on your menu bar, so readers can see at a glance what topics you cover on your blog.

There is a way to add tag content that is in different categories, but there is a similar topic in it. For example, I want to link all my posts that contain Yoast SEO plugin or all my posts that mention affiliate links. You should use tagging for the express purpose of joining the related content.

Unfortunately, most bloggers (self-included!!) can get a little 'happy' tag and create lots of tags! Ensure that you go in regularly and by according to your tag, they ensure that they all fulfill a purpose!

Internal Linking
Internal links are extremely important for both readers and search engines.

Internal links help your readers discover related content that is well-meaning for them. If they require additional explanation, then it gives them to go somewhere. For example, in this article, I give you a link to read extra on each sub-topic so that you can get more information / understand better.

Internal linking also helps search engines better understand the structure of your site: which articles are related, and what is the most important content on your site. Search bots look at articles with lots of links that point them, are more important than just some links that they point to.

Whenever you write a new post, you should always ensure that you link to other related posts and go back to the old related posts and link to your blog post.

Cornerstone material

Simply put, cornerstone content is the most important content on your website - pages or posts that you want to rank higher in search engines.

The cornerstone article should be:

Long: At least 900 words, but probably taller
Evergreen: In other words, timeless - not tied to a particular year or season
Complete, informative and official: such as the Ultimate Guide ... '
Very well written: Take your time, they should be your best writing
The most important pages of your website: show the main topics of your blog
When you come to your website for the first time, your readers will like the posts/pages you post.
Updated regularly
It's easy to find your blog
You should write cornerstone articles about the keywords you want to rank the most. Generally, you write at least 1 piece cornerstone content for each of your main classes.

More importantly, these cornerstone articles should have content with the most internal links on your site that point them. Every time you write an article on your blog, you should ensure that the most relevant cornerstone is a link pointing to the article.

Tools for site structure
There are many tools available for site structure within the Yoast SEO plugin (free edition). Contains:

The option of marking the cornerstone material and obtaining a strict keyword and readability analysis
Tools to count the number of links from and to a post
Ability to filter post observation by number of cornerstone content, number of inbound links and number of outbound links
Yosh's premium version gives you an additional tool - Internal linking suggestion - which will provide a link to include in your new blog post based on what you have mentioned in your blog post.

Back
Backlinks are when any other website links to your content. Backlinks help search engines establish your website and 'authorization' of each individual post or page. We occasionally talk about 'about domain authority' or 'page authorization'.

Simply put, if your website has a lot of backlinks from other websites, which have a lot of authority in itself, which is your Domain authority 'with search engines.

If there are too many high-quality links on a particular page or post that indicate that the post/page will have a higher 'page authority'.

The idea is that a site with many good quality backlinks is likely to have more than one good quality content, which has fewer backlinks or have only fewer authorizations or spammy backlinks.

How to get more backlinks

There are several ways to get backlinks. Here are some simple ones:

Share your content regularly on social media
Take part in Blogger Roundup
Take a blogger link
Contribute to articles written by brands
Create your own roundup post
Guest post on other blogs
Keep track of hashtags like #journorequest and #prrequest on Twitter
Factory to avoids
Google is very eager to make sure that there are 'real' and useful for readers. Unfortunately, given the importance of backlinks to SEO, many unscrupulous backlink techniques have jumped over the years. These include things like backlinks and payments for backlink exchanges. These types of links do not benefit readers. Keep in mind that you can avoid them, or you can be penalized by Google and degraded into search rankings.
Technical SEO
Technical SEO is a big topic and is mostly not for SEO beginners. However, there are things that even beginners can do to improve their technical SEO.

The technical SEO is about ensuring that search engine bots can easily crawl and index your site, fix broken links, improve the speed of your site, and ensure that you are structured Use the data.

crawlability

It is important that you make it easy for bots to crawl your site efficiently. One way you do this is by submitting a sitemap to Google. You should also make sure to fix crawl errors on your site. The Yoest plugin can help you in all of this. To know how to install the Yoast SEO plugin, read my article.

Fixing link links
You should make sure that you regularly check broken links and fix them. You can use tools like broken link checker to find these broken links and then fix them. This is a quick task if it is done regularly but it is not done for a long time, then it is a long task. Make it a daily habit to check your broken links!

Site speed

Site speed is an area of SEO that is becoming more and more important. It is very important for SEO to have a fast website. The user experience (UX) is a big part of SEO and if your site is slow to load, then it will be counted against you in the ranking.

Search engines are in the business of answering the best questions for their searchers, and answering a slow answer is a great answer. Read my article on 11 ways to improve site speed to know how you can improve the speed of your site, anyone who can do it!

Structured data
Structured data is a piece of code that gives search engines additional information about your post or page.

Google uses this code to better understand your content and create rich results. These are Google results that appear with additional information.

For example, when you search for 'Mushroom Risotto', you will see in search results entries that contain cook time, calories, star ratings and photos. These are rich results. Rich results are clearly more desirable because they stand out in search results and are visually more attractive.

However, if you provide structured data, Google can only provide rich results. This recipe is especially important for bloggers. If you do not have your recipe in a structured data format, it is difficult to rank for recipes.

The good news is that it is relatively easy to do this. All you need is a recipe plugin that will generate this structured data for you.

Be careful though. Not all recipes plugins were created equal. What I recommend is WP Recipe Maker. There is a free version, which you can download from the plugin repository on your WP dashboard. However, if you can possibly afford it, then I recommend getting Pro Bundle *, which will give you a lot of additional features, including an easy way to generate nutritional information, and give your recipes your favorite remedies (Metric for example) US customary)
I hope this beginner guide for SEO has given you a great understanding of the basics of SEO as well as practical suggestions to pursue your blog. It may seem a bit daunting, but it's not really that.

Keep in mind that the key to good SEO is to be the best result. But keep in mind that the best result is more than just writing good information.

Getting the best results included

Working on what your viewers are really looking for
Write great content that will really help your audience
Optimize your posts with your chosen keywords
Make sure your text is well structured and easy to read
Ensuring that it's easy for your website readers and bots to navigate
By doing this, you can get backlinks to your site
Using the Yoast plugin to help search bots crawl your site effectively
Fix broken links
Improve your site speed
Using structured data (for example a recipe plugin) where appropriate
If you do that every post, you'll almost certainly see the results and regain the rewards - and you will definitely not start an SEO now!
